Barrel Fluting Service Barrel Fluting Services include straight, spiral, and diamond fluting. Heavy contour match barrels such as M24, MTU, Proof Competition typically see 12-16oz of weight reduction depending on the pattern. Lighter contours are lower due to the reduced depth at which the flutes can be cut. They typically see 6-10oz for a 26″ long #4 contour fluted. Average Lead time on fluting is 3-4 weeks. INSTRUCTIONS: You must send J&A Outdoors your barrel in order to have this done. Simply select the pattern type you want – pay for the service as you normally would a product, print the receipt, and include it with your barrel when you mail it in. We’ll perform the work and mail it right back to you. Cerakote is also available (Give us a call to discuss). Additional services outside of barrel fluting can add a little delay to the delivery time, but not much.
